Joshua Barlett, second signer of the Declaration of Independence adopted Gideon Frisbee, born May 20, 1782.
Gideon Frisbee married Betsy Parsons on July 14 1803
daughter, Eliza Greene Frisbee born July 31, 1805 (the Green line goes back to Nathanial Green, second in command in the Revolutionary war, and as I recall, was passed through a crowd to be kissed by French General Lafayette ) [Thus a connection to Nathaniel Green and Joshua Bartlett]
married William Eddy Clarke (son of William Clarke) Dec 14, 1821, Steuben County, NY -- had 11 children
son Robert Emmet Clarke(1), born sept 10, 1846. (fought in civil war with Tennessee Volunteers, his rifle and banjo clock has been passed down (currently with Ken B. Clarke).
married Lillian Talbot on Sept 10 1878. She was grand-daughter of Edward Allen Talbot(2) and great grandfather, Richard Talbot -- both leading a large Irish migration of settlers to (New) London, Upper Canada (now Ontario). Related to cadet branch of Talbot family, of which the primary Talbot Line dates back to 1087 -- and Malahide castle, outside Dublin
son, Kenneth Burwell(3) Clarke
(1) Robert Emmet was a Irish rebel national leader, who gave a much quoted speech at his execution (by the British for treason) in 1803. It was the tradition of strong Irish nationalist families to name a son after him. This points to William Eddy Clarke and/or father William were strong Irish nationalists -- but is not conclusive.

(3) My mother (June Garnsey Clarke his daughter-in-law asked him about the Burwell name. He said it was not a family name but had some obscure origin. The source might be from prominent poet Adam Loop Burwell who wrote a poem Talbot Road -- about the Talbot Settlement in Upper Canada.
